2020 was a big year. I mean a BIG year. It was for everyone. It was so easy to dwell on the negatives. All the things that come with a pandemic, not to mention all the other crazy things that happened.
Due to the pandemic, income loss, escalating anxiety, high levels of depression, and not being able to get the medication I needed for surgery… my energy levels were in such a state of ebb and flow that I was not dependable. BUT in the middle of all that, something crazy good happened.
I needed something to do to keep my spirit up. So, with some encouragement from my husband, I started editing my first manuscript. I’ve been sitting on it, off and on, for years. Most recently, it was because I just could not get my mind wrapped around editing my own written work.
Funny thing is, during that time of sitting on it, I had become much more involved with editing my clients’ written work. So, by the time I picked up my draft this time, editing was enjoyable and I felt like I knew what I was doing. Woot!
It reminded me that there is no wasted time. While I was sitting on my manuscript, wondering if I’d ever be able to move forward with it, I was working out my editing “muscles.” Is there something in your life you want to do, but haven’t moved forward on? What are you learning in the downtime?
