I would consider the month of October to be a “transition” month in terms of writing, for three reasons.
- Beta Readers. I finished editing my manuscript based on my expert beta readers’ initial feedback. I just have to tweak a couple medical and law enforcement parts after receiving clarification on a few followup questions. I have already sent my entire manuscript to my other beta readers, already receiving feedback and anxiously awaiting more!
- GHC: Start Your Email List. I have signed up for a hope*writers Guided Hope Circle, to create a lead magnet and build my email subscriber list. A lead magnet is what you would get for signing up for my monthly email. I’m creating one I’m kind of excited about 😊
- Query Letter. I am researching anything and everything I can about what a fiction writer needs to send to agents, editors, and publishers. This involves the manuscript and a query letter, and possibly other “paperwork” too. It is so important to get this right – It’s the gateway to finding the right person that wants to work with you and your book.
I’m so excited because I feel like I’m steps away from making my dream a reality. In reality, I know it’s much more than that. BUT, I’m going to fully embrace the excitement in the meantime!
How do you feel during transitions? Do you embrace the excitement about what could potentially happen or do you keep yourself in check?
